The Jaguars returned to action for their third game of the season, putting on a determined, high-energy performance on the road against Queens Road.
Coming off a tough fixture the previous weekend, the Jaguars showed immense character from the opening whistle, taking control early and carving out several sharp opportunities.
The breakthrough came when Ernie Simmons found space on the edge of the area, calmly placing a tidy finish into the bottom corner.
Building on that momentum, Lenny Green, making an instant impact in his first game operating out wide on the win, put relentless pressure on the host side's backline. Green's energetic run and dangerous ball across the box ultimately forced an unlucky own goal from the Queens Road defenders.
The Jaguars kept their foot on the gas throughout the first half. A dynamic, surging run into the box by Caleb Harris drew a foul inside the penalty area. Showing great composure, Harris dusted himself off to step up to the spot and bury the penalty with precision.
Queens Road refused to back down, continuing to fight their way into the contest and pressing high up the pitch. However, Henry Manwaring was in imperious form at the back, pulling off a series of crucial, last-ditch tackles to thwart dangerous attacks and keep the opposition at bay.
The Jaguars sealed the match late on when Oren Stow capped off a strong team move with a lovely, composed finish.
Stellar Performances Across the Squad
It was a total team effort from front to back. Hunter Ward and Charlie Staples put in tireless shifts, running relentlessly and setting the tempo—work ethic that has rapidly become their trademark. Between the posts, goalkeeper Reggie Shaw remained razor-sharp, turning away every threat with a handful of impressive saves whenever called into action.
At the final whistle, two players earned special recognition for their standout contributions:
Supporters’ Player of the Match: Lenny Green, whose non-stop determination and attacking intent down the wing proved a constant threat throughout his debut performance on the flank.
Coaches’ Player of the Match: Henry Manwaring, who earned the nod following an absolute masterclass in defensive positioning and timely challenges.
Another strong step forward for the Jaguars as the season continues to gather momentum!
