For the first time this season, Panthers had a fully fit squad, with the return of Jonte to the team after missing the last three games through injury.
Panthers started strongly and played some lovely football in the opening 10 minutes. Lleyton was unlucky not to get on the end of a through ball from Ethan and then again from Jax.
Jonte returned to the pitch after 13 minutes, and it didn’t take him long to get his goal-scoring boots back on. A nicely weighted ball played down the left-hand side was met by Jonte on the edge of the box, and he buried it into the far-right-hand corner.
An end-to-end first half resulted in Kent Academy capitalising on an error and scoring with a deflected effort that wrong-footed Josh.
The second half started how the first had ended, and if it wasn’t for Josh being in fine form once again, denying Kent Academy.
Just after the half-hour mark, Jonte made a great run down the left-hand side, taking the ball all the way to the goal line before somehow managing to cut it back to Jaxon, who tapped the ball into an empty net.
Unfortunately for Panthers, this was as good as it got, as the goal seemed to awaken Kent Academy into life.
With 10 minutes left, they won a free kick about 15–20 yards out, central to goal. A wonderful strike beat everyone and found the net.
Just two minutes later, they turned the game in their favour with a quick breakaway finish.
The Panthers can hold their heads high once again after another great end-to-end battle. The boys gave everything and can take plenty of positives from the game.
