The Panthers took on Medway Town whites this morning in our first home game of the season.

The game started with neither teams being able to take control of the ball. After 9 minutes Medway won a corner, a great cross in and some poor defending they managed to poke home the opening goal of the game.

This woke Panthers up after a very sleepy start and Within a minute from going behind Aiden and Lleyton worked well on the left hand side of the pitch and the ball fell nicely to Jaxon who struck the ball from well outside the box into the bottom left hand corner of the goal.

The remainder of the first half was very balanced and very little to split the two teams with opportunities for both teams stopped with great defending. Special mention to Jimmy for his outstanding defensive performance thought out the whole game.

Medway started the 2nd half well and after 5 minutes in the second half Panthers made a change to put Aiden out on the wing. This proved to be the change in the game that would turn the momentum into a dominant second half performance.

After 35 minutes, Leon passed the ball out wide to Aiden who ran the ball down the right wing and put in a wonderful cross which found the boot of Jaxon who struck for his second of the game.

More chance’s come and went for Panthers and with 8 minutes left on the watch they won a corner on the right, Aiden stepped up, keeper flapped at it and it fell to Lleyton to tap home for his second of the season.

A great performance for the Panthers in a game that they struggled with last season.
