A clear and sunny 17‑degree morning greeted the Pumas for Matchday 2, as they welcomed Pegasus 81, a well‑drilled side who also came into this fixture off a strong result against the Pumas last time out. With a full squad available and a 9:30 kick‑off, the boys were set for another demanding test in the MYDL A Division.

The Pumas worked hard from the start, containing Pegasus for long stretches of the first half and competing bravely in numerous 50/50 challenges. Pegasus showed the sharp passing and cohesion of a team that has been together for years and regularly plays in the top tier, taking their chances well when they came. The Pumas created a few good opportunities of their own but couldn’t quite convert, despite some encouraging attacking moments.

Defensively, there was plenty of commitment. The boys battled, pressed, and put in strong tackles, especially in the first half where both teams fought hard for every loose ball. At times, Pegasus’ familiarity and drive gave them a slight edge, but the Pumas stayed competitive and made it a proper contest.

Coach Dean Nash praised the effort and determination shown across the squad, noting that the boys gave everything and that there were positives to take forward despite the result against a well‑established side.

A solid effort overall, with plenty of fight and commitment on display. The Pumas regroup and go again next week with another big challenge ahead.
