The Jaguars rounded off their first set of fixtures in superb fashion with a commanding home performance against Rainham Eagles — and they couldn’t have asked for a better start!
From the first whistle, the Jaguars were full of energy and intent, dominating possession with crisp passing, tireless work, and relentless attacking play. Their early pressure paid off as Caleb Harris struck twice in quick succession, showing his usual sharpness in front of goal.
Moments later, Charlie Staples produced a moment of magic — taking a sublime first touch before weaving past two defenders and finishing coolly to make it three.
Rainham Eagles responded well and carved out several chances of their own, but the Jaguars’ goalkeeper produced a string of exceptional saves to deny them and keep the hosts firmly in control.
As the match moved into its closing stages, the Jaguars pushed on once more. Harris completed his hat-trick with a close-range finish following an unselfish assist from Charlie, before Ernie Symonds wrapped up the scoring in spectacular fashion — curling in directly from a corner!
There were standout performances across the pitch, with Lenny Green marshalling the defence superbly and Charlie Staples showing great determination in both attack and defence. But it was Hunter Ward who earned the Coaches’ Award for his outstanding all-round display and tireless effort throughout.
A brilliant team performance and the perfect way for the Jaguars to close out their opening run of fixtures!
