The Leopards travelled to Champions elect Upchurch, knowing defeat would see their hosts claim the title.

The visitors were missing 3 centre midfielders in the form of David, Zach & Callum, so Joe then Benni had to fill in midfield alongside Ben & Jack Dog.

Upchurch started strongly with the slope & wind to their advantage, but the back 3 of Josh, Peter, Brick & Joseph were defending superbly.

And it was the visitors who went closest in the early stages as Phillip found space on the edge of the box drifted towards the top corner but crashed back off the crossbar.

But it was Upchurch who broke the deadlock, from a wind assisted punt forward from the keeper, their winger hooked in a cross that was superbly volleyed home from about 10 yards.

And 3 minutes later they doubled their advantage as Tommy’s goal kick was headed forward and bounced over our defence. Their forward latched onto it and guided it past the out rushing Tommy.

Into the Second Half and the Leopards had the slope and wind to their advantage as they started to build momentum.

They pulled a goal back as Benni did well to retain possession on the right, he found Ben who played it into Paul on the edge of the box who swivelled and rifled his shoot past the keeper and through the net(!!!). Game on!

In injury time had a golden opportunity as another dangerous corner from Joe was met by Josh at point blank range but he couldn’t get enough on the ball to divert it home.

The Leopards continued to press but the final whistle marked the end of their title hopes.

Coaches Thoughts
Really proud of all 13 of those boys today, they did us proud. They emptied the tank on the pitch and that’s all we can ask for!
We pushed them every step of the way today and now we have to focus on securing 2nd place.
