Leopards On The Goal Trail Again

Ben Bradley16 Feb - 16:19

Milton & Fulston 1-7 u18s Leopards

On a freezing afternoon, the game took an unexpected turn when the referee arrived 10 minutes late.

Despite this, the leopards started strong, leading 8 minutes into the game after Paul scored from a clever flick-on.
The team displayed dominant football and exceptional wing play, doubling their lead in the 23rd minute with a clever corner kick routine involving Callum and Olly, resulting in a Callum shot deflected into the net.

Three minutes later, Benny scored after Olly flicked the ball through. In the 33rd minute, the hosts were awarded a soft penalty against Josh for shielding the ball, which was slotted home.

The second half began with the leopards reaffirming their dominance. In the 47th minute, Peter headed home an excellent Callum corner kick.

Olly continued his scoring spree in the 61st minute, finding himself on the right side of the field after a brilliant Phillip ball.

Callum calmly finished in the 68th minute, receiving a perfect through ball from Paul.

Paul provided another assist in the 75th minute, finding Jack in ample space on the left side, who drilled the ball into the net.

As the game neared its end, Jack and Josh received cautions. Jack was cautioned for a handball incident, while Josh was cautioned for allegedly persistent fouling.

Parents Player: Peter.
Coaches Player: Olly.

Coaches Thoughts
In a scrappy game ruined by the ref the most pleasing thing for the coaches was how we got the ball out to the wide players and created chances that could’ve easily led to another 4 or 5 goals.
