The Leopards travelled to face reigning champions Meopham Yellows in the first of their back-to-back fixtures.

The visitors were without Joe & Connor, so Benni was deployed on the left flank. While Meopham only had 11.

It was a scrappy opening as neither team seemed to keep possession on a bobbly surface.

The Leopards took the lead when David’s flag kick fell to Peter and he slammed home from 8 yards.

The lead didn’t last long as Meopham hit back with a stunning strike, a free kick to their midfielder on the edge of the box and we rifled a dipping half volley into the top corner giving Tommy no chance.

But the visitors then started to move the ball a bit better and it paid dividends on the stroke of half time as Ben played the ball into Luke, he played it into the path of David who burst into the box and tucked the ball past the keeper.

Into the Second Half and the boys were told to keep it simple and play through the thirds, but we couldn’t get any rhythm going.

The midfield trio of Ben, Zach, Jack & David had a real physical battle in the midfield.

It was Meopham who pulled level, as a next through ball found their striker in on goal and he slotted past the onrushing Tommy.

The game was very much in the balance and it was the Leopards who went ahead with 10 minutes to go, as Phillip chased a ball over the top and beat the keeper to the ball, before squaring across the six yard box where David was arriving to slot into an empty net.

Meopham chucked everything at us for the final moments, but the back 3 of Josh, Peter, Joseph & Brick stood firm to seal a valuable 3 points.

Coaches Thoughts
Not our best performance, but a massive 3 points. But credit to the boys for digging in and getting the result when not at our best!
Hopefully next week we can put on a better performance and still come away with 3 points!
