The Leopards hosted promoted Meopham Colts Red at a very wet Borstal Rec.

The hosts included new signings attacking midfielder David & left back Joseph in the matchday squad.

The Leopards burst out of the blocks, taking the lead after just 2 minutes as Connor recycled a throw in back into the box, David then head into the danger area and Paul beat the keeper to the loose ball to nudge home from close range.

Meopham look dangerous on the break and Tommy was called upon to make a save to his right, before Josh then blocked the follow up to prevent a certain goal.

The hosts then doubled their advantage as Tommy’s superb goal kick skipped past their defence and into Paul’s path, he showed good composure to side foot past the keeper.

Phillip then had a couple of opportunities, being denied well by the keeper, then rifling past the far post.

Just before the break, Paul completed a first half hat trick, Luke played him in on goal with a beautifully weighted through ball. He held his defender before poking push the onrushing keeper into the far corner.

Into the Second Half and the boys were challenged with maintaining their standards and intensity from the first period.

It was the visitors who started the stronger, with the back 3 of Josh, Peter, Brick & Joseph defending superbly.

But it was the Leopards who extended their lead as Joe’s ball into the box, found Benni who laid it off to David who steered a delicious finish inside the far post for a well deserved debut goal.

The Leopards then started to move the ball really well, showing some excellent movement off the ball and looked dangerous everyone they went forward.

The hosts completed the scoring with a few minutes left, with some excellent football involving Joe, Jack & Ben who found Zach inside the box in the inside left channel, he chopped back on his right foot before curling a shot into the far corner.

Coaches Thoughts
Really strong performance from the boys against a decent Meopham side.
We were strong in our duels, moved the ball really well & had excellent movement off the ball.
Some really worked goals & clean sheet aswell. That has set a high standard to maintain!
2 excellent debuts from David & Joseph too!
