The Leopards travelled to face Champions Elect Upchurch in the plush surroundings of Upchurch Cricket Ground.

The visitors were without Ben, Connor, Zach & Hayden as they only had 1 sub available.

The hosts started well and controlled possession but the back 4 of Mitch, Josh, Peter & Brick were defending superbly and Tommy wasn’t called into action.

The Leopards then started to grow into the game and took the lead as Mitch picked up a loose ball at the back, stepped into midfield and clipped a delicious ball to put Paul in on goal, he advanced a lobbed the ball over the keeper and into the net.

Into the Second Half and Leopards started to get on top with Phillip, Jack, Ted & Joe were holding their own in the midfield battle. While Luke was holding the ball up well.

But it was hosts that equalised as a deep cross from the left found their forward free in the box, he took a touch before giving Tommy no chance from close range.

And it went from bad to worse as a few minutes later, Brick tripped the Upchurch winger just inside the box. Their forward stepped up and sent Tommy the wrong way but his effort went wide of Tommy’s right post.

This turned the momentum of the game and Leopards looked threatening on the break and with 13 minutes (of normal time) to go regained the lead. From Peter’s free kick on halfway, Benni won the header and their defenders sliced clearance looped up in the air towards Phillip, who launched himself into the air to connect with an acrobatic bicycle kick that flew into the corner of the net.

Upchurch chucked everything at the Leopards, but the boys defended their goal with everything they had to preserve the lead and take home a massive 3 points!

Really proud of all 12 boys, they absolutely worked their socks off and got their rewards.
We defended heroically, used the ball well, two superb goals and 3 massive points!
Could not have asked for anything more from the boys. A good day at the office!
