| A season of success! |
Following some dramatic changes to the team over the summer - Arthur Branton took over as manager and brought with him the entire under 18s squad - Mark Wood stepped down as Manager to become Captain - it was expected that this season would be a year to consolidate.
In the end the season turned out to be highly successful. A good Kent Cup run saw the team make it to the 3rd Round stage for the first time, only to be knocked out to Premier Division Rainham Athletic. And to finish second in the League was a fantastic acheivement by such a young squad, aided by experienced players such as Gav Stewart, Mark Wood and Shaun Rudland.
An inconsistent first half of the season was followed by a brilliant second half with Real only losing 1 out of the 11 played. A fantastic 5-4 success over Champions Medway Queen and a 4-2 success, the following week, over Scorpions ensured Real could finish in second place.
Real will now be looking to build on this and improve further as they make their return to the Premier Division.
